Montana Injury Lawyers: Tried & Tested for 75+ Years
After suffering from a serious injury, it can be difficult to get out of bed — let alone navigate the legal system for the first time. In your physically, emotionally and financially weakened state, you might feel lonely, angry, overwhelmed and helpless.
The good news is you don’t have to face recovery alone.
For physical and emotional support after your accident, you should seek help from doctors, counselors, and close family and friends. But when it comes to your financial recovery, you need a professional who knows how to navigate the legal system and will fight for the compensation you deserve. You should never attempt to take on an insurance company with bottomless pockets on your own. Even though you may have a stronger claim, the other side might be willing to resort to shameful tactics like lowballing your settlement or dragging out your case in order to pressure you to give up.
If you have a workers’ compensation, personal injury, or Social Security Disability dispute, you’re in the best legal hands with Murphy Law Firm. Our team has over 75 years of combined experience representing injured Montanans, including extensive courtroom and trial experience.

Our Practice Areas
We have more than 75 years of experience representing injured MontanansAt Murphy Law Firm, we focus on a few select areas of law and specific clients in order to provide the best possible representation. We are plaintiff’s attorneys only, proudly representing victims of accidents and catastrophic negligence — NOT insurance companies and corporate America. We are honored to play a key role in securing the well-being of injured victims and grieving families, helping recover fair and just monetary restitution for their losses.
Montana employees are entitled to receive workers’ compensation benefits after experiencing a job-related injury or illness. Unfortunately, many legitimate benefit requests are denied, or payments are terminated prematurely. Not all employees are treated fairly in the system, but a knowledgeable workers’ compensation lawyer can provide the assistance you need. We help injured and disabled workers obtain the benefits they deserve, and assist families who are entitled to death benefits. If an accident is caused by an unsafe workplace or third party, there may be additional compensation to pursue.
We handle a wide range of personal injury cases, including injuries caused by motor vehicle accidents and collisions involving cars, trucks, and motorcycles. In some cases, an accident is also a workplace incident, such as when an employee suffers a crash in the course of business. These accidents can be devastating, even fatal, leaving the family facing a tragic loss or wrongful death. Insurance adjusters often try to minimize damage claims and deflect blame onto the victims, but our attorneys are proactive, effective advocates for our clients. We can help determine if there are outside parties liable for your injuries.
People who are disabled due to an accident or work-related illness may be eligible for Social Security Disability (SSD) benefits or Social Security Income (SSI). The application process for benefits is complex, and applicants can sometimes be initially denied. However, a denial decision can (and in many cases should) be appealed and reversed. Obtaining strong legal representation for your appeals hearing can make all the difference. Our attorneys understand the system, the requirements to prove your need, and the right way to present key evidence for your social security disability case.

Over $10 million recovered in wrongfully denied benefits for our clients in the last year aloneReesor v. Montana State Fund (2004)
Murphy Law Firm challenged the constitutionality of denying full workers’ compensation benefits to injured workers over the age of sixty-five. The Montana Supreme Court reversed the workers compensation court decision and found that an arbitrary age limit on permanent partial disability (PPD) benefits violated the Equal Protection Clause of the Montana Constitution.
The Court agreed with Murphy Law Firm that insurers paying more wage loss benefits to younger persons, but limiting payments to elderly workers, violates the Equal Protection Clause. Murphy Law Firm successfully changed decades of law wherein workers compensation insurers unconstitutionally denied equal benefits to elderly workers because of their age.
